Two killed in Borno
Gunmen shoot former council boss who had just buried his father
Suspected Boko Haram members have shot two persons dead, including a former council boss, Lawan Kagu in Damboa town, in the southern senatorial district of Borno State.
Kagu, who just buried his father on Friday evening, was receiving visitors when he was gunned down by the suspected fundamentalists.
According to witnesses, the gunmen pretended to be sympathisers and sat on the mat with their victims before drawing out their guns and shooting them dead before fleeing.
Kagu appeared to be the main target, with the other victim shot to facilitate the gunmen’s escape.
The information officer of the council, Sheriff Ajigil, confirmed the incident.
