The state’s civil service commission has been directed to create recruitment plans for MDAs
The Enugu State executive council has lifted the ban on employment in the state, the Commissioner for Information, Chuks Ugwoke, announced on Friday.
Ugwoke said the government directed the state civil service commission to call for a memo from the ministries, departments and agencies to create employment for the youth of the state.
He said the state executive council also approved a special verification exercise in the public service to cover people who were not captured during the biometric exercise earlier conducted in the state.
The commissioner said those affected were those newly recruited as well as those who were sick during the exercise with proof of medical report.
Other decisions taken by the government, according to Ugwoke, include the approval of a debt management policy and a procedure manual for stakeholders.
He said the debt management department will advise the governor on debt matters in the state.
The commissioner also announced the arrival of the first mechanised sweepers to improve sanitation in the state capital, adding that the next batch would arrive in two weeks.
